Top Honours at the NKBA Ontario Design Awards
The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) Ontario Chapter celebrates the very best in kitchen and bath design each year through its prestigious Annual Design Competition. The winners were revealed at the 16th Annual NKBA Ontario Design Awards Gala, held at Paramount EventSpace in Woodbridge on February 9th. The evening’s theme, inspired by the vibrant colours of the peacock, set the stage for a celebration of creativity, innovation, and design excellence.
More than 35 winning projects were recognized across ten primary kitchen and bath categories and six specialty categories, including the highly coveted Pinnacle Award and the People’s Choice Award. These awards honour the most exceptional work from designers and builders across Ontario.
Projects submitted to the competition were evaluated by a distinguished panel of NKBA-certified designers and industry experts. Each entry was judged according to strict criteria, including adherence to NKBA design guidelines, safety and ergonomics, design planning, creativity, and overall presentation.
Among this year’s top honours, Rose Barroso of Barroso Custom Homes was awarded the NKBA Pinnacle Award—the competition’s highest recognition. Selected from all first-place winning designs, the Pinnacle Award represents the best project submitted across every category, celebrating outstanding vision, craftsmanship, and innovation.
The People’s Choice Award, presented in partnership with Homes Publishing Group, is determined through public voting and industry participation, highlighting the designs that resonate most with both professionals and homeowners alike.
The NKBA Ontario Chapter Design Competition continues to showcase the remarkable talent shaping the future of kitchen and bath design across the province.
